Videography & Photography
Videography and photography services have been paused.
We have prioritized keeping the equipment room, production studio, and post-production computer lab open and available for course support and to the Barnard community. However, we will no longer be able to provide event recording and video editing services for job talks, performances, lectures, and other events.
We understand that this service change may impact your planning for the upcoming semester, and wanted to share the following updates and resources to assist you in those efforts:
- (Most) Barnard classrooms are equipped with hybrid classroom technology that supports video recording events, lectures, job talks, and workshops without the need for additional staffing or gear. This classroom technology catalog lists technology and hardware in different spaces for consideration when reserving a room; contact AV services (avhelp@barnard.edu) for additional training and support
- For event video recording: The Media Center’s Equipment Room has three specialized event videography cameras for staff to reserve for checkout in advance of their departmental events. These advanced cameras are able to connect directly to AV audio, making them ideal for capturing higher profile events for archival purposes. Media Center staff can provide training on how to use the equipment and relevant best practices.
- For event photography: Staff can reserve a Canon Rebel from our Equipment room.
We appreciate your understanding and collaboration and would like to encourage you to keep reaching out to us for your course support needs.
