This film follows Queen and Slim’s first date, which which takes a turn for the worse when a police officer pulls the couple over for a minor traffic violation. As tension heightens, Slim takes the police officer’s gun and shoots him in self defense. Slim and Queen decide they must now run from the law while also coming to terms with their newfound representation in the media. The screening will have a reception with light refreshments, followed by a talk-back with media professionals about mentorship and the role of mentorship in their careers, in particular how mentorship can help women, nonbinary people, and people of color achieve success.  This event is open to students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumnae.  Register here!
